Watercress Way Volunteering: December brushcutting and route maintenance

The Watercress Way is looking for volunteers to help with clearing a key section of the route, come and help improve accessibility for all

As part of the Watercress Way's regular programme of brushcutting and clearance sessions, usually lasting 1-2 hours, this activity will help ensure the route is well maintained and accessible to as many walkers, cyclists and riders as possible. This is a big job on our large route, so we depend on volunteer support to help.

This session will focus on the section close to the playing fields at Couch Green in Martyr Worthy, near Winchester. We will need help with cutting, raking, lopping, clearance and other route maintenance.

If you'd like to help, please meet sign up so we know how many to expect on the day. Parking is available at the playing field site. The specific location can be found at What Three Words location: ///shapeless.breezes.rekindle. Please wear appropriate clothing suitable for gardening, including gardening gloves and wellies.

The Watercress Way is a charitable organisation that helps maintain and manage the 27 circular route, using sections of two old railways and existing rights of way between Alresford, Kings Worthy and Sutton Scotney, NE of Winchester.

We a deeply grateful for all volunteer time and support. If you are also in a position to make a donation this helps us enormously with covering material and equipment costs associated with our work. Thank you.
