Brush Cutting: Volunteers clear Wonston Bridge

Our volunteer brush cutting group have been hard at work and completed clearance work at Wonston Road bridge in the Sutton Scotney section of our route.

Brush cutting during the recent warm and wet summer months is crucial for maintaining ecological sustainability and ensuring public access is maintained. In this season, vegetation grows more rapidly, often leading to overgrowth that can impede pathways and access routes. Regular brush cutting helps to manage this growth, ensuring that trails remain navigable for walkers, cyclists, and other users.

The Watercress Way is dependent on volunteer time and donations. If you want to get involved in helping us improve accessibility and fosters a healthier, more balanced ecosystem in the local area the you can get in touch on our Volunteer page. If you are able to help us maintain our work and equipment, please consider making a contribution on our Donation page.
