The Watercress Way Annual General Meeting

The AGM of the Watercress Way Trustees was held on 12 January 2017 at The Tubbs Hall, Fraser Rd, Kings Worthy, SO23 7PJ, at 8:00pm.Despite the  snowy weather members of the public joined the 9 trustees in reflecting on the progress made up to June 2016 when we became a registered charity and our plans for 2017.The key achievements so far have been:

• the recruitment of 9 trustees with suitable skills and experience
• setting up the website
• registration with the Charity Commission on 16 June 2016 (Registered Charity Number: 1167675),
• production of maps of the aspirational route and of the currently walkable route and many meetings with a variety of interested parties and stakeholders.

Plans for 2017

• A day of activity on Sunday 30 April 2017 starting with a Dawn Chorus walk at 4.45am.
•  We have finalised a design for roundels to mark the route and will start erecting signs on parts of the route and two information boards in the Couch End and Gratton car parks.
• We are seeking Friends of the Line to volunteer to adopt a kilometre of the line and to regularly check it for litter and report any issues.
