The Watercress Way at the Watercress Festival 2023

We're excited to announce that The Watercress Way trustees will again be making an appearance at the Watercress Festival in New Alresford on 21 May. If you’re visiting the festival, come and see us on our stand in the market stalls area.

Hampshire has a proud railway heritage, and the Watercress Festival is a fantastic way to celebrate it. The festival showcases the importance of the railway industry in the area, which was once renowned for transporting fresh watercress to markets in London. The Watercress Way has strong ties to Alresford, with the route running through the middle of the town, we are proud to promote the use and enjoyment of local footpaths and bridleways in this area.

Visitors to the Watercress Festival can learn more about The Watercress Way and explore some of the walking routes on offer. So come along and join us for a day of fun, food, and exploration of the local ecology and heritage.
